In 2013,
Victorinox Swiss Army is pleased to present new versions of its
iconic Original watch.
The military-inspired timepiece is monochrome in tone and extremely
easy-to-read. Now, the Original watch is modernized and urbanized. It is
coupled with a new modular leather strap.
The Original holds a special place in the history of the brand. It is
the very first Victorinox model introduced in the United States in 1989.
Since then, the Original model, characterized by simplicity, assertive
design, top quality, and durability, has always been featured in the
catalog, having become a true icon.
The color of the straps has been inspired by the color of the leather
case of the original Swiss Army Officer’s knife. The chronograph model,
limited to 1989 pieces, referring to the year of introduction of the
first model, boasts an additional detail - a
removable leather hood
completely encasing it. This casing pays tribute to the military
watches of the first half of the 20th century, which were protected by a
grille or a lid. Today, this element looks stylish and unconventional.
The new Original watch is now presented in
two versions :
- a three-hand version with a date window, equipped with a Ronda quartz movement.
- a chronograph version with three central hands, three sub-dials, a
date window found at 4 o’clock, animated by an ETA quartz chronograph
movement.
The case construction incorporates a
brushed aluminum bezel
accentuating the trendy look of the watch. The central seconds hand
stands out due to its delicate orange color. While the older versions of
the Original watch were coupled with a NATO fiber strap, the new
Original watch is teamed with a stylish two-piece leather strap, while
the Original Chronograph watch is presented on a three-piece strap.
With both models, you can wear the natural leather strap in the
traditional way, or adding a cuff that fits over the base strap with two
loops.
The
40mm dark grey case is sculptured in ultra-shock-proof
nylon characterized by supreme lightness. The crown protection proves that the watch can withstand harsh conditions.
The
dial guarantees great legibility. It is completed with
oversized indexes and numerals that are recessed and covered with
luminescent material.
The
new Victorinox Original and
Original Chronograph watches are
100-meter water-resistant. The novelties are available starting this spring.see more
